Class Descriptions

Hornsby Dog Training Club offers you guidance in training your dog in a way that will strengthen his or her trust and respect for you. We will also assist you gaining a better understanding of the way your dog behaves and thinks, and the best way to open up those lines of communication. Training your dog results in not only a well adjusted dog, but one that has bonded with you and your family and behaves in a manner that is expected by society.

Hornsby Dog Training Club practises positive, reward-based training which essentially involves training your dog using treats and praise. The basic principle behind this training method is simple. If you reward the dog for a particular behaviour (eg, sitting), the chances are high that the dog will repeat the behaviour.

After all classes are finished, feel free to let you dog have the benefit of a run in the off-lead area.

Please keep your dog on-lead and under control at all times before and during classes.

Check-In: do not allow your dog to approach another whilst check-in is in progress.

TESTING:

Testing for Class 1 will be from 2.30-3.00pm.
Testing for Classes 2, 3, 4 and 5 from 3.00-4.00pm.
